Update the Preschool Playground

The Marcus JCC offers an exemplary preschool program that nurtures children’s unique strengths, fosters exploration, and develops their positive Jewish identities. The Weinstein School, located on the Zaban Park Campus, is the largest Jewish preschool in Atlanta and is operating at full capacity. Learning opportunities are created through numerous avenues such as arts, sciences, and outdoor play, all of which encourage imagination and exploration in a fun and safe environment. The sizeable preschool playground, which is open to members on weekends, last received modest improvements in 2005.

Studies demonstrate that during early childhood, play is one of the most important ways that young children learn critical skills and develop. Playful learning is a key element of the Marcus JCC’s pedagogical approach, both in the classroom and through our outdoor playground. It is the responsibility of the Marcus JCC to ensure that the equipment and elements of the preschool playground are updated, age-appropriate, and reflect the highest current standards in playground safety. Significant renovations and replacements are needed to maximize the school’s potential and meet the demands associated with representing one of the highest-quality preschool programs in the state.
