Summertime is a fun time at the MJCCA! With many of the benefits of our school-year program, including certified and fully-trained preschool teachers, we add ample outdoor activities so even our smallest campers, ages 6 weeks to rising Pre-K, get to experience camp like a big kid. The MJCCA’s Inclusion Program strives to provide the necessary accommodations and flexibility for youth who require additional support so they may access the transformative opportunities available at the MJCCA.
Whether your child is into art, theater, cooking, sports, or just general outdoor fun, our MJCCA Day Camps summer program for rising Pre-K through 9th grade students, provides endless options. MJCCA Day Camps is fully inclusive and strives to provide the opportunity for children with special needs to participate in our camp programs.
The Chaverim Unit provides an awesome camp experience to teen campers in rising 7th-12th grades with special needs. The program includes staff with special needs experience, a very low camper-to-staff ratio, and access to our many wonderful camp activities. Your child will come home with lifelong friendships, new adventures experienced, and a lifetime of summer memories!
Campers can attend a four-week or two-week program at Camp Barney Medintz, the MJCCA’s overnight camp in the North Georgia Mountains. They will be supervised by experienced, specially trained staff who understand the camp setting and also infuse large doses of conscientious mentoring, warmth, humor, and hugs.
Our Chalutzim program is offered for campers ages 12 to 22 with special needs and has been nationally recognized since it was established in 1992. This program is highly individualized and an extraordinary experience for each camper. Campers in this program come to us with a wide range of abilities, and we work closely with each child on meeting individual goals for their time at camp. This program offers all of the exciting CBM activities and opportunities, while facilitating individual and group skill development.
